    Access recently opened and favorite files

    When your file manager becomes overwhelmed with data, it becomes more difficult to get around and find some files. However, there is an easy way to access the most important and frequently used ones - Recents and Favorites.

    Access recently opened files

    In the Recents section, you can access the 20 most recently opened files in descending order, starting from the latest opened file.

    To access recents, tap Recents/Favoritesat the bottom, then switch to the needed tab at the top.

    Tip: You can ask Siri to add the Recents or Favorites widget on your home screen to quickly access the files.

    To access recents, tapRecent files on the sidebar. If you don't need this section to be on your sidebar, tap iconat the top left > disable the Show Recents toggle. You can always add it back in the Sidebar section of the Documents Settings.

    Tip: You can ask Siri to add the Recents or Favorites widget on your home screen to quickly access the files.

    Add, access, and sort favorite files and folders

    In the Favorites section, you can access files and folders, marked as favorites. To access favorites, tap Recents/Favoritesat the bottom, then switch to the needed tab at the top.

    Mark files and folders as favorites

    To mark a single file or folder as favorite, open the My Filessection or the needed folder and do one of the following:

    • Tap ... on a file or folder > tap Add to Favorites at the bottom.
    • Tap Select in the top right > tap the file or folder > tap More ... at the bottom right > tap Add to Favorites at the bottom.
    • Tap and hold the file or folder > drag and drop it to the star iconat the bottom.
    • Tap the star icon next to the file's name to add or remove the file from Favorites.

    To mark multiple files or folders as favorites, open My Filesand do one of the following:

    • Tap Select in the top right > tap the files and folders > tap More ... at the bottom right > tap Add to Favorites at the bottom. 
    • Tap Select in the top right > tap the files and folders > drag and drop them to the star iconat the bottom.
    • Tap the star icon next to the file's name to add or remove the file from Favorites.

    Once a file or folder is marked as favorite, it appears in the Favorites section.

    Sort your favorites in a custom order

    1. Open the Favorites tab.
    2. Tap the Settings icon in the top left.
    3. Tap Customise Favorites Order.
    4. Change the order of files and folders with drag-and-drop.

    Files marked as favorites appear in the Favorites section on the sidebar.

    Once a file or folder is marked as favorite, it appears in the Favorites section.

    Sort your favorites in a custom order

    1. TapRecent files on the sidebar. If there isn't this section on the sidebar, open the Sidebar section of the Documents Settings and tap Show next to Recent Files.
    2. Tap the Settings icon in the top left.
    3. Tap Customise Favorites Order.
    4. Change the order of files and folders with drag-and-drop.

    Clear recents or favorites

    To clear Favorites:

    1. Open the Favorites tab.
    2. Tap the Settings icon in the top left.
    3. Tap Clear Favorites > tap Clear in the pop-up window.

    To clear Recents:

    1. Open the Recents tab.
    2. Tap the Settings icon in the top left.
    3. Tap Clear Recents > tap Clear in the pop-up window.
    1. TapRecent files on the sidebar. If there isn't this section on the sidebar, open the Sidebar section of the Documents Settingsand tap Show next to Recent Files.
    2. Tap the Settings icon in the top left.
    3. Tap Clear Recents or Clear Favorites depending on your needs.
    4. Tap Clear in the pop-up window.
