    View and convert MS Office & iWork files

    The Documents app supports viewing MS Office and iWork files, and its PDF converter can easily turn any of them into beautiful PDFs so that you can make the most of your files using our advanced PDF editing tools.

    Add files to Documents

    There are multiple ways you can add MS Office or iWork files to Documents:

    • Add files using the plus button at the bottom right
    • Share files from other apps to Documents
    • Download them from our built-in browser 
    • View the files from any cloud storage connected to Documents without downloading them
    Tip: Once a file is added, you can tap the More ... icon at the top right > Enable Night Mode to make it easier for you to work in poor lighting.

    Use search and add bookmarks

    iPhone iPad
    • To search through the contents of your file, tap the iconin the bottom right corner, type in your query, and tap Search on your keyboard. The search results will be highlighted, and you can navigate through them using the buttons in the bottom corners. When you finish with searching, tap Done at the top right.
    • To get quick access to certain parts of the file, you can bookmark them. To add a bookmark, tap the iconat the bottom, and tap the Add new Bookmark button.

      To manage your bookmarks, tap the iconat the bottom left corner and tap Edit at the top right. Here, you can rename, delete, and change the order of the bookmarks by dragging them.

    • To search through the contents of your file, tap the iconat the top, type in your query, and tap Search on your keyboard. The search results will be highlighted, and you can navigate through them using the buttons < > at the top. When you finish with searching, tap Done at the top right.
    • To get quick access to certain parts of the file, you can bookmark them. To add a bookmark, tap the iconat the top and tap the Add button.

      To manage your bookmarks, tap the iconat the top and tap Edit at the top right. Here, you can rename, delete, and change the order of the bookmarks by dragging them. 

    Convert MS Office and iWork files to PDF

    To convert a single file to PDF, open it in the Documents app, then tap the conversion icon. Alternatively, or to convert multiple files at once, follow the steps below:

    1. Open Documents.
    2. Open a folder with the needed file or stay in the My Filessection if the file is there.
    3. Tap ... at the top right > Select.
    4. Select the files you need to convert.
    5. Tap Convert to PDF at the bottom.
    Tip: If you need to merge several files into a single PDF file, tap Merge to PDF after selection.

    To convert a single file to PDF, open it in the Documents app, then tap the conversion icon. Alternatively, or to convert multiple files at once, follow the steps below:

    1. Open Documents.
    2. Open a folder with the needed file or stay in the My Filessection if the file is there.
    3. Tap ... at the top right > Select.
    4. Select the files you need to convert.
    5. Tap Convert to PDF on the sidebar.
    Tip: If you need to merge several files into a single PDF file, tap Merge to PDF after selection.
