The Documents app makes it easy to combine a number of files or folders together into one archive file, or a series of archive files, for easier storage and transportation by compressing them. Compression reduces the size of a file while preserving the original data. This allows you to save space as well as easily transfer the files over the internet, for example, via email. Compression can be undone anytime.
Compress files and folders in Documents
When you compress any of your files or folders, Documents creates a compressed copy of them (it's always a ZIP file) which appears in the same folder where the original files or folders are located. Once a compressed copy is created, you can delete the original files to save space.
To compress a single file or folder, tap ... on a file or folder > tap Compress. The new ZIP file will be created in the same folder where the original file is located.
Alternatively, or to compress multiple files or folders, follow these steps:

- Tap the files or folders you want to compress.
