With PDF Expert, you can easily merge two or more PDF files into one without even opening them - if needed, you can re-arrange the pages manually in your new file to your liking.
Note: The option to merge PDFs is one of the features available in a subscription-based version of PDF Expert. If you've previously purchased PDF Expert 6, you can still merge PDFs without a subscription.
How to merge PDFs
- Launch the PDF Expert app.
- Select File > Merge Files.
- Select the files you'd like to merge (hold Shift to select multiple files). You can also drag and drop the needed files to the merge dialog window.
- Click Merge. That's it!
An alternative way to merge several files into one would be:
- Launch the PDF Expert app.
- Open one of the files you need to merge.
- Go to Page Management mode.
- Select Append file.
If one of your files or all of them are forms, you may receive an error while trying to merge them. There's a way you could bypass that: if you want to merge PDF forms, please save them as flattened copies first:
- Open a form.
- Go to File.
- Select Save as Flatten.
- Now, you can merge this copy with other files as described above.
Note: The files are merged in a sequence they are selected in - you can re-arrange the pages manually.
Tip: If you're getting an error while trying to merge your files and none of them are forms, there's a chance that one of the files is signed with a digital certificate. In some cases, you can simply delete the signature and thus resolve the problem.
