In Spark, you can set the default browser for opening links. The iOS and Android versions of Spark also offer additional customisation options to make reading emails faster and more comfortable. For example, you can decide what happens after you archive or delete an email or select the options to display on the toolbar.
When it comes to the default browser, Spark follows the system preferences of your Mac. For example, you can set Google Chrome as your default browser, and Spark will use it to open links.
How to change the default browser on your Mac:
- Open the System Settings.
- Click Desktop & Dock.
- Under Default web browser, pick the desired app.
- Tap the menu icon at the top left.
- Open Settings > Email Viewer.
- Under the Main Toolbar Action, you can select the options to display at the bottom of the email viewer. Tick one of the options: Archive, Delete, or Archive and Delete. Now, they appear on the toolbar:
Note: The Mark as read/unread , Reply , and Snooze actions always display on the toolbar. To access other actions (e.g. print or save an email as PDF), tap the More icon .
- Under When Email is Archived or Deleted, tick one of the options. Spark can either open the next email after you archive or delete the previous one or return to the email list.
- Tick one of the options under the Default Browser. If you select In-App, Spark opens links from emails in the built-in browser. This option allows you to quickly return to Spark after viewing a web page. Alternatively, you can select Safari as the default browser. In this case, you’ll have to switch apps to return to Spark. Spark can also open links in Google Chrome. If you have the Chrome app installed on your device, tick Chrome.
