Tasks are simply things you need to get done, like "buy groceries," "reply to Anna," or "finish the report." Unlike calendar events, which happen at a set time, tasks are more about what you want to do than when you want to do it. You can still add a due date or a reminder if you'd like, but it's not required.
Calendars by Readdle let you organize tasks into lists, break bigger ones into smaller steps, and check them off as you go. It's an easy way to keep track of everything on your plate without trying to remember it all in your head.
Calendars also support services like iOS Reminders and Google Tasks - you can learn more about how to set them up here.
