The duplicating events issue may be related to a sync glitch or to the fact that Calendars displays the same events from the built-in calendar app on the iPad/iPhone along with your Google account data.
There are two ways to add Account to Calendars:
- Directly — Calendars Settings > + Add account button > Follow the onscreen instructions. You can add Google, Exchange, Outlook, or iCloud accounts.
- Locally — Add the needed calendar to the local Calendars app first > Open Calendars by Reaadle > Preferences > Local Calendars. Enable the display Local Calendars toggle and choose the accounts to display.
The issue you've faced with duplicated Events usually happens because this Event was added to a few different Accounts, and the same Account can be added to Calendars both directly and locally.
- Find and hide the Duplicate Account (if you want to keep it):
- Open Calendars.
- Click on a duplicated event to see which account it’s linked to.
- Click the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner.
- Uncheck the account that’s showing duplicates.
- Remove the Duplicate Account (if you prefer to remove it):
- Open Calendars by Readdle.
- Go to Preferences > Local Calendars.
- Turn off the account that’s duplicated.
This will remove the calendar from the Calendars app if it was synced from the native Apple Calendar app.
-
Check for Remaining Duplicates:
If you’re still seeing duplicates, check the list of all calendars and uncheck any duplicates.
-
Identify the Source of Duplicates:
Duplicate events may be caused by sync issues or by showing events from both the built-in calendar app and your Google/Outlook/iCloud accounts.
- Fix Duplicate Events:
- Open the Calendars app.
- Tap the hamburger icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner (you can skip this step on iPad).
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Local Calendars.
- Turn off the toggle for any duplicated Google/Outlook/iCloud accounts.
