Calendars is an app that works together with your existing calendar. It helps you see all your events and appointments in one place and keep your schedule organized🙌
Here’s what you need to keep in mind before getting started: Â
- The Calendars app works as a sort of a mediator between the calendar service (for example, Google Calendar) and your device
- You cannot use the Calendars app on its own - you need to connect an account for it to work
- The Calendars app does not store your account information on our side - everything is managed on the service provider’s sideÂ
- The app works only with accounts you connect to itÂ
When you set up Calendars for the first time, the app will ask you to connect your calendar. Simply select the calendar you already use (e.g., Google Calendar or Outlook) and sign in. The app will guide you through the process step by step.
Once you connect it, Calendars will automatically bring all your events and appointments together in one easy-to-see place.
Here’s how to start using the app:
-
Add your calendars: When you open the Calendars app for the first time, you’ll see a message asking you to connect your calendars.
You can simply turn on Local Calendar - this will automatically add your Apple Calendar to the app. If you want, you can also choose other calendar services from the list. For each one, you’ll be asked to sign in with your account details.
To help you, we’ve prepared step-by-step guides that show how to add each type of calendar to the app, divided into direct and local connections.
Direct Connection
These are the calendars you can add directly to the Calendars app:Â
Local Connection
When turned on, Calendars shows calendars from the accounts added in your iOS Settings.
For the best experience, connecting your accounts directly in Calendars Settings unlocks more benefits and ensures smoother synchronization.
-
Sync your data: Once your account is connected, the Calendars app will automatically keep your events and appointments up to date.
If you add, change, or edit an event in Google, Outlook, or another connected calendar, the same change will appear in the Calendars app. Changes you make in the Calendars app will also show up in those services, as long as syncing is turned on. - See your events in a unified view: After you connect your calendars, all your events will appear together in one view. You can give each calendar a different color, so it’s easy to see where each event comes from. This helps you see your full schedule in one place without confusion.
- Manage your events: You can add, change, or delete events in Calendars, and your updates will show up automatically on all your devices. You can also set reminders and repeating events so you don’t miss anything important.
All your calendars are now in one place, making it easy to see and manage your schedule on any device🪷
