Having an app that reflects your personal style can make all the difference, and we're happy to let you know that Calendars offers a range of customization options to help you do just that. Whether you prefer a clean and minimal look or something more vibrant and personal, you can easily tailor the app to match your lifestyle and preferences.
There are several customization options in Calendars, so you can adjust the app to your lifestyle and preferences.
Change the app’s icon
To change the app’s icon in Calendars (available on iOS):
- Open the Calendars app.
- Go to Settings > Appearance & Haptic > App Icon.
- Select your preferred icon.
Customize the sidebar
To customize the app’s sidebar in Calendars for iOS:
- Open the Calendars app.
- Go to Settings > Appearance & Haptic.
- Personalize your app with custom themes and sidebar styles, and choose the app icon that best suits you.

Calendars use the theme set in your device's settings. Follow the steps below to switch to the dark/light theme:
On Mac, Calendars follows your macOS theme, so you switch it in System Settings (not inside the app).
Here are the steps:
- Open System Settings > Appearance.
- Choose Light or Dark.
- Then check Calendars to confirm it changed too.
On macOS, the in-app Appearance & Haptic option (where you’d pick a theme on iOS) isn’t available, so the system setting is the only way to change it on Mac.
- Open the Settings app > Display & Brightness.
- Select the Dark or Light theme.
You can also manually switch between Dark and Light themes directly in the app settings:
- Open the Calendars app.
- Go to Settings > Appearance & Haptic (Theme Options on iPad).
- Select the Dark or Light theme.
