How to create new events with Siri and Smart Icons

You can use Siri to create new events in Calendars. To do this, turn on the Local Calendars toggle under Calendars settings.

Note: Siri will add events to the Default Local Calendar. You can change the calendar by editing the event afterward.

To change the Default Local Calendar, follow the steps below:

1. Go to iOS Settings.
2. Tap Calendar. If you're using iOS 10.3.3 or earlier, go to the iOS Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Calendars.
3. Select any calendar you would like Siri to use.  

How to create events with Smart Icons

The Calendars application supports Smart Icons to reflect events. To create an event with a smart icon, you simply need to type an event title using one of the keywords.
